My therapeutic work comprises of person-centered and emotion-focused approaches. At the cornerstone of my theoretical orientation, is the belief that human beings are inherently trustworthy and possess an intrinsic ability to move towards healing when they are supported in doing so. I often bring in elements of mindfulness to encourage insight and self-awareness of our inner dialogue, attachment theory to understand how our early-life relationships may be influencing our current interpersonal connections, and neurobiology to encourage a greater understanding our mind-body connection.  Furthermore, we may explore somatic experiencing and embodiment exercises when appropriate to strengthen our connection between mind and body.

You have a unique story which requires unique interventions. As your therapist I am here to provide a caring and trusting environment to assist you in your own self-exploration and problem solving with a bit of professional help along the way. From the first session, our focus will be on establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. Then we’ll work together to explore what tools and techniques are fitting to you and your life story that may help you reach your personal goals, overcome presenting challenges, and mend past scars.
